How to use Basic Pliers & Why you don't need 2 out of the 3

Pliers...
Love 'em or hate 'em they're an important part of creating jewelry.

Truth be told, there are only a handful of pliers that are
absolutely necessary.

We've gathered some of the most common questions
out there about these handy little tools. So get ready
for some serious learning.

THE 3 MOST BASIC PLIERS...EVER!:

1- The Round Nose Plier-

My favorite plier! They're mainly used to make loops or
wire wrapped loops. I fell in love with them the first time I
used one. Probably because of the challenge of making a
PERFECT loop. Whatever the reason...they're
essential to creating purty loops. So I would learn my way
around them if I were you. (Watch the video at the bottom
of this e-mail to find out how)

2- The Needle Nose Plier-

These pliers are simply flat and they're usually used to fasten or bend
crimps, crimp covers, end cords, etc.

Another way these pliers are regularly used is to open jump rings!
Sounds boring I know, but just wait until you need to open a
jump ring. They'll save your life!

TIP: When opening a jump ring you WILL need not 1, but 2 needle nose
pliers, so plan accordingly.

3- The Side Cutter-

There are SO many cutters out there, and truth be told, the side cutter
included in the 3 piece set is NOT my favorite, but it'll do the
trick if you're just starting out. (or you can click here if you want to see a
REAL top of the line cutter)

TIP: Yesenia, our beading guru, recommends owning at least 2
different cutters. Use one for cutting wires only and one for cutting
thread or beading wire only. This will extend the life of your pliers
significantly.

Now, the subject of today's blog post mentioned something about NOT needing 2 out of the 3 basic pliers! How's that you ask?

Simple: The 3 in 1 Tool!!

Look at the picture below and see for yourself:
No explanation needed right?
We'll go ahead and explain it anyway:
4- The 3 in 1 Plier:
Super budget friendly aaand it does ALL of the things I just
mentioned above!! Win/Win in my opinion
.

We've added a short explanation of how to use 2 bonus pliers in our video tutorial of the day.
