Who are we?
Alonso Sobrino is a family business with 100 years of experience in the retail and wholesale fabric industry. Over the past decades, it has continued to expand its inventory, offering a wide variety of materials for making jewelry, resin, polymer clay, and other crafts. We continue to grow daily and offer our customers the best service so they can make all their creative ideas a reality.
How did Alonso Sobrino originate?
The store's name comes from the surnames of the original founders, who emigrated to Puerto Rico from Spain in 1921 and established their retail and wholesale fabric store in Old San Juan. After their retirement, the company continued to prosper with its second generation: the Alonso-Ruiz family. Finally, in 1999, Alonso Sobrino was acquired by JM Soler, a close family friend with over 50 years of experience in the fabric industry. Today, the Soler family leads the company with great passion and dedication, always seeking new challenges and adventures to offer high-quality service to their customers.
What is our mission?
Our motto "Invent. Create. Design." expresses our mission by inviting our customers to unleash their imagination and creativity to make anything they desire without limitations. That's why we do everything we can to maintain a highly varied inventory. Additionally, we stay aware of what our customers are looking for to supply them with everything they need. Not only that, but we also want to motivate people of all ages to believe in their ability to create, which is why we offer in-person courses and workshops on different topics. We also share tutorials, educational videos, and other types of content on our YouTube channel and on our social media.

Fabrics
We are home to the widest variety of fabrics for all uses, including crafts, casual wear, formal dresses, wedding gowns, baby clothes, upholstery, curtains, cushions, and much more. In addition, we have a large Notions department, which includes everything you might need for your sewing projects such as threads, buttons, tools, etc. That's not all! Jewelry Making Supplies
Here you will find a world of semi-precious stones, beads in different materials, pendants, connectors, all kinds of findings or pieces to complete your accessories, and of course, all the essential tools.
Resin
Our resin section not only features Epoxy Resin and UV Resin but also contains a huge variety of silicone molds, glitters, pigments, alcohol inks, and other types of additives. Additionally, we have our exclusive Basic Resin Kit, which includes all the materials you need to start working with resin, including mixing cups, a hand drill, sandpaper, a glitter set, wooden sticks, and much more.
Polymer Clay
This section is steadily growing. We offer polymer clay bars in different colors, cutters, and tools.
Cutting Machine Materials
Another growing section that is certainly not lagging. In our online store, we have a wide variety of adhesive vinyl colors so you can decorate and personalize countless items such as glasses, mugs, keychains, and other glass, plastic, or metal surfaces.
