📢 We invite everyone to participate in the Garments with a Purpose Contest, whose objective is to design and create accessories that have a purpose or tell a story.
💡 To give you an idea, do you remember the bracelet with the story of Jesus that became very popular a while ago? That's the concept!
Use different materials, colors, and techniques to create a piece that represents a theme such as love, family, religion, healing, our history as a people—in short, your imagination is the limit. It shouldn't just be a garment, but something that sparks conversation and can be worn every day.

Objective of the competition:
Create a necklace, bracelet, or any other type of accessory that has a purpose or tells a story. Examples: love, family, religion, healing, the four elements, chakras, finances, our history as a people.
Conditions for participation:
- All materials used must have been purchased from our store.
- The piece may include stones, chains, crystal, and other materials, and may also use the preferred technique or several at once, as long as they harmonize with each other.
- All participants must be residents of Puerto Rico. There will be no age restrictions for participants.
Delivery of the part:
- Anyone wishing to participate must first read all the terms and conditions.
- You will be provided with an entry form to fill out, which will ask for the name or title of the piece, a brief summary of what it represents, and your contact information (name, phone number, and email address). You will also need to sign the form, confirming that you have read and accepted all the terms and conditions.
- You must submit the participating piece along with the registration form in person to our Jewelry Department.
- Only 1 piece (necklace, bracelet, earrings, ring, hair accessory, or a set that represents a single purpose or story) will be allowed per participant.
- The delivery period will last 1 month, starting on June 1, 2023 at 8:30 a.m. and ending on June 30 , 2023 at 5:30 p.m. EXTENDED UNTIL JULY 14.
- By submitting the piece, the participant will be authorizing Alonso Sobrino to take photos and videos of it, and to create any type of content for marketing purposes during and after the contest.
Voting and Awards:
- Three winners will be chosen (first, second, and third place) according to the number of votes obtained.
- Both Alonso Sobrino employees, customers, and the general public will be able to participate in the vote.

The voting method will be through Facebook. Once the submission period has ended, we will upload a photo of each piece to a photo album on our Facebook page, “Alonso Sobrino Telas & Beads”.
To vote, each person must:
- Like our Facebook page.
- Give a “Like” (React) to the photo of the piece you wish to vote for.

Comment only once per person on the photo of the item.
(If a person comments more than once on the same photo, only 1 vote will be counted.)
Each winner will be chosen by the sum of votes between the "Likes" and comments on the photo of their piece.
- The voting period will begin on July 3-17, 2023 as soon as the photos are uploaded to Facebook and will end on July 1-24, 2023 at 4:00pm .
- The participant with the most votes will win the First Place prize : $500 ($250 cash and $250 store credit).
- The Second Place prize will be: $300 ($150 cash and $150 store credit).
- The Third Place prize will be: $200 ($100 cash and $100 store credit).
- The winners will be announced via our social media channels Instagram and Facebook on Tuesday , July 25, 2023 .
- Winners must claim their prizes in person by visiting our store. The last day to claim your prize will be Tuesday, July 18th / August 1st, 2023 .
- If you do not claim your prize within the stipulated dates, it will be passed on to the next participant with the most votes.
- From Tuesday , July 25th onwards, all participants will be responsible for picking up their items from the store within a 45-day period. We are not responsible for items that have not been collected within the stipulated period.
- This contest is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook or Meta in any way. Facebook and Meta are not liable for any consequences related to this contest.
NOTE: An extension to the participation period was announced on Monday, June 26, which is why the voting period, winner announcement date, and other dates were also postponed and have been edited on this page.
