Project: Screens with Liquid Sculpey
Materials:
- Liquid Sculpey
- Silicone mold ( Moon and Star Lampshade Mold )
- Micas
- Little cups
- Wooden Sticks / Toothpicks
- Sandpaper
- Oven
- Basic Jewelry Pliers
- 7mm rings
- Fish Hooks
Instructions:
- Place the Liquid Sculpey in a small cup and stir the material with a wooden stick before continuing .
- Add the powdered pigment (mica). Stir slowly with a wooden stick until everything is well mixed, without lumps.
♥ Tip: Start with Add a small amount of pigment until you reach the desired color intensity. Stirring slowly will help prevent air bubbles from forming in the mixture.
- Pour the mixture into a silicone lampshade mold, using a wooden stick and a toothpick to smooth it down and avoid air bubbles. Be sure to clean up the edges to remove any excess.
♥ Tip: If you want to know exactly how much water you need for the mold, first fill the mold with water and then pour the water into a measuring cup.
- If you're using the same mold as in this tutorial, repeat steps 1-3 for the second color. If you have any leftover mixture from the first color, you can add another layer of mica in a similar shade to make the most of the material.
- Bake the pieces according to the product instructions. (See downloadable resource).
- Once the pieces are cold, remove any excess with sandpaper.
- Use pliers to attach the rings to each piece, just like you would for lampshade hooks.
