Hi there!!
If you're on our e-mail list, you probably know this already, but for those of you that don't know: our bead and fabric store is located in the island of Puerto Rico.
Now, this has its advantages and disadvantages.
On the PLUS side: we're in the Caribbean, so our weather is usually on the warmer side. We don't have to worry about snow storms. We can get a tan by simply taking a walk in the middle of the day. We have access to some pretty ridiculous beaches and waves (for the surfers out there). Since the island is relatively small we don't have a 3 hour commute... I could keep going but you get the gist.
On the DOWNSIDE: Hurricanes are fairly common (especially on hurricane season). You better lather your face with spf 50 on a daily basis unless you want to age twice as fast as the rest of the world. Gaining weight over the Holidays is more painful because you can STILL go to the beach despite having eaten 1,000 calories in one meal the night before. A.K.A: We don't get a few months to lose the weight before facing the dreaded swimsuit.
Why am I going on and on about the Pros and Cons of living in Puerto Rico?
Well, for three reasons:
First, I wanted to brag a little about our beautiful beach in Culebra known as Flamenco. It was just named one of the top 10 beaches in the world for 2015 by TripAdvisor! (Scroll down to look at a picture) #soproud
Second, I thought I might convince you to come visit us in person next time you get some time off from work.
Third, today's DIY Embellished cuff was inspired by our beautiful beaches. Ok, maybe not, but I needed a way to segway into our jewelry tutorial :)
Looking for a way to unwind this weekend? We've got the DIY for you!
The beauty about DIY (Do It Yourself) is that you can take anything and give it your own personal twist. So if there's anything that's not doing it for you, just change it!

Yes we are all jealous. I have lived thru a hurrican. Very scarry. I love the site and your ideas. I’m doing a craft show in the fall so I make one (at lease) piece of jewelry per day. I live in Ohio.
Love each one of your videos. Keep up the good work!!!
